Annette R. Watson was born in Wilmington, Delaware on November 16, 1929, to the late Clyde Bishop, Sr. and Margaret Isabel (Johnson) Bishop. She was peacefully called home on September 14, 2018. Annette grew up in Newark and was a faithful member of Mt. Zion U.A.M.E. Church. There she served as a Missionary, choir member, and was known for her contributions to the kitchen committee and her famous macaroni and cheese. She attended the New London Avenue School and Howard High School. Annette was best known for her kind heart and unconditional love to all. She was a shining example of God’s love to mankind and she expressed that love by giving her gifts to serve others as a caretaker to many in the community.

She was a dedicated member of the Newark Community and a strong advocate for her family. She often did not say much, but when she spoke WE ALL listened. Through her strong faith and loving spirit she touched many lives.

Annette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother and friend. She was a fighter and most importantly, she was a child of the king. She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life Samuel. E. Watson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde & Margaret Isabel Bishop; husband, Samuel E. Watson,; daughters, Joan L. Lockett and Janice L. Matthews.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Reginald E. Watson Sr. (Edith, deceased) Ronald Matthews (Ronetta); five siblings; sisters, Doris Lambert, Margaret Cave, Janet Smith (Nahum, deceased), Claudette Evans (Donald), and Clyde Bishop Jr (Cynthia); a devoted sister-in-law, Michaele Bishop; and a loyal son-in-law, Clarence Lockett; 4 grandchildren, Reynisha Lindsay (Jason), Reginald Watson, Jr. (Renee), Tiffany L. Matthews (Brad), Tianna Wood (Keenan); two godchildren, Marsha Jones, Diane Holland;, adopted granddaughter, Tonnette Graham; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
