George Thomas “Couchy” Atkins was born March 17, 1958 in Dover, Delaware. He gained his eternal wings on October 27, 2018 at the age of 60 years old. He is preceded in death by his nana, Marie Guy, and other family members.
George was a very special man who was loved by all. He was a hard working man who could do just about anything.; he was jack of all trades. George had a passion for working on cars and helping people.. George had a love for family and friends and would do almost anything for anyone.
George was educated in the Capital School District and was one of the first children to integrate East Dover Elementary School in Dover. He also served in the United States Army for a number of years. George was employed with PPG for 14 years.
George will be forever cherished by his loving mother, Reba B. Johns; his significant other, Tracey Nickerson; three (3) sons, Kijuanis Smith, Avar Brown, and Shaquille Dixon; a brother, Charles “Terry” Atkins and a sister, Gayle M. Atkins; three (3) nieces, Teresa Dixon, Darla Dixon and Vonetta Bradley; a nephew, Charles Hopkins; six step-children, Artis and Shakiera Nickerson, Darnell Fullman, Tienaira and DeAira Nickerson and Khalil Dixon; a godson, who he helped raise, George Brinkley; 11 grandchildren, and a host of other close family and friends.
