Obituary

Obituary for Kenneth R. Myers

Kenneth Renae Myers, son of Leslie Myers,Jr. and Mattie Myers, was born in Turrell, Arkansas on January 31, 1965. God called Kenneth home on January 20, 2019.

Kenneth received his early education at Saint Paul's Parochial School, located in Wilmington, Delaware. He attended Howard Career Center and later received his GED from James H. Groves School. Ken also received certification in the contracting field. Ken had several nicknames, two of which were Muscles and Third World.

Kenneth was blessed with many gifts; he was a great artist, the top of his class and unique with intellectual conversations. At the prime of his life, Ken founded a group called, "Third World Unification." He was known as a Revolutionist and would advocate for a variety of injustices going on in society. He recruited members and they abided by the bi-laws which he and the members had written. He also loved sports and his favorite team saying was, “I'm on God's team and that's the winning team!"

Ken was sometimes caught up in a RUT, however he was determined not to be discouraged. Ken was always in communication with family and always said, “I LOVE you" , with his favorite saying being, "Sometimes we take longer than others!"

Ken was also a loving father, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and most of all, a TRUE friend.

Ken cherished his children and grandchildren unconditionally. He was the Patriarch and Protector of our family. He would also demand your full attention and give directives on what he was trying to accomplish for the family.

Ken loved the Lord and made Peace with God. We will surely miss our Patriarch and Protector.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories son, Jahlil Lewis of Wilmington, DE; daughter, Tiara Myers of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Trevor, Nuryiah, Egypt, Jahlil, Jr., and Isabella; devoted girlfriend, Debra Carn; brothers for LIFE, Martin Marty Roberts and Kordell Hazzard; special friend, Tammie Lewis; former wife, Theresa Wilson; two sisters, Phyllis Myers of Townsend, DE and Leslie (Tania) Myers of New Castle, DE; two aunts, Barbara Jean Myers of Memphis, TN and Diane Nesbitt of New Castle, DE; two uncles, Walter Myers of Everglades, FL and Louis Myers of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and so many friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Myers, Jr. and Mattie Myers; brother, Lloyd (Lou) Myers; nephew, Richard Allen Seth, Jr; grandparents, Q. P. Nesbitt and Mattie Nesbitt and Leslie Myers, Sr. and Lucille Myers; uncles, Nathaniel Porter, Robert Nesbitt, William Thompson, John Myers, Clarence Myers; and aunts, Joyce Thompson, Sally Nesbitt, Minnie Jones, Ruthie (Tootsie) Chambers.

Dear family, I express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear loved one and I know it’s so difficult to bear. But know that your Heavenly Father understands your pain and He cares. He extends a hope to each and everyone and that hope is that you will see your loved one again. John 5:28, 29; Isaiah 25:8a
