Mark McClenton

Mark “Bill” McClenton, was born on October 30, 1930 in Ocilla, GA.
Mark, of Clayton, Delaware departed this life on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Christiana Hospital, Newark Delaware. He was 88 years old.

Mark, over the years worked mostly as a truck driver. He was known for tinkering, fishing, and his deep baritone singing voice. He was a Korean War Veteran, former President of the East Coast Gladiators and member of the gospel group the “Gospel Impressions.” He was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Smyrna, Delaware where he sang in the Voices of Inspiration Choir.

Mark was preceded in his death by wives, Wilma Mae, Leona, and Barbara; sister Bessie; daughters Shirley McClenton and Stephanie Goldsboro.

Mark is survived by daughter Peggy Sue Morgan; son, Anthony Hill; grandson, Shaun McClenton; granddaughters, Heather Hulse and Tonya Caldwell; foster children, Brenda Dickerson, George Dickerson, Darlene Dunson, Terry Brummell and Raymond Freeman; foster grandchildren, Jeaneen, Keith, George Jr, LaShaunda, and Kyra (Dickerson), Jessica, Tamara, Jay, and Elizabeth (Freeman), Myesha and Jamal Dunson, Paris and Perry Schoolfield and Isiah Bowden; a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
