Obituary for Melvin E Scott Jr.

Melvin Edward Scott, Jr. (Charlie) was born on January 28, 1960 in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was the second of five children born to Mary Ann Scott and the late Melvin Edward Scott, Sr. Charlie departed this life on October 5, 2018 surrounded by family at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Charlie attended Lake Forest High School and later received his high school diploma through an Adult and Continuing Education Program in Maryland.
Charlie worked for many years as a cook in various restaurants throughout Delaware. Also, he was a skilled decorator and furniture upholsterer. Charlie was a very meticulous and neat person, which was demonstrated through his work and appearance.
Charlie accepted the Lord as his personal Savior early in life and would occasionally attend St. Paul A.M.E Church in Harrington, Delaware. We thank God for the time that He allowed us to spend and share with Charlie. Charlie was fun-loving and gregarious. He loved spending time with his mother and family.
He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Edward Scott, Sr. and his brother Marvin Scott. Charlie is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Scott of Harrington, Delaware; three siblings: Sophia LaSalle (Henry) of Frederica, Delaware, Wayne Scott (Marcy) of Seaford, Delaware, Gwendolyn Scott of Harrington, Delaware, one God-Sister: Gwendolyn Scott-Jones (David) of Harrington, Delaware; two aunts: Margaret Bowers of Dover, Delaware and Edith Berry of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three uncles: Lester Scott (Alberta) of Dover, Delaware, Daniel Scott (Nancy) of Laurel, Maryland and Raymond Taylor of Bridgeville, Delaware, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
