Obituary

Obituary for Ramona Lenora Ringgold

Ramona L. Ringgold, daughter of the late Robert L. Taylor, Jr. and Ruth L. Taylor was born on August 30, 1960 in Salem, New Jersey. She departed this life on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at her residence in Bear, Delaware.

Ramona graduated from Salem High School in New Jersey in 1978 where she received a scholarship to attend Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware.

Ramona worked as an Administrative Assistant at DuPont while attending Goldey Beacom College. After working for DuPont, Ramona worked at MBNA in Newark and Wilmington, Delaware where she worked for 15 years. She received numerous awards of recognition during her time at MBNA and continued to be an active member with the MBNA Alumni. Ramona spent the rest of her career at MT&T Bank in Wilmington, Delaware until she retired in July of 2018.

Ramona was known by her smile and her willingness to help anyone in need. She volunteered for various organizations. Ramona would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it, and she was always there to give you encouragement or say that she loved you. During the holidays Ramona would be the first to call family and friends to wish them a “happy holiday”.

If you knew Ramona well, you knew that she loved spending quality time with Chuck, her children and grandchildren. Ramona and Chuck enjoyed family gatherings and taking vacations together to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and driving on Skyline Drive in Virginia. They also loved to barbecue and have family and friends over.

Ramona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles E. Ringgold, Jr; father, Robert L. Taylor, Jr; mother, Ruth L. Taylor; sister, Rosalynne L. Woods; brothers, Roger L. Taylor and Raymond L. Taylor.

Ramona leaves to cherish her memories; her sons, William Taylor and Charles E. Ringgold, III; stepdaughter, Jasmyn Hart; father-in-law, Charles E. Ringgold, Sr.; grandchildren, Shaniyah Brown, Stephen Hart, Jayda Ringgold and Amari Hakim; siblings; Robert L. Taylor, III, Rhonda L. Scott, Rhoda T. Ingram (Percy), Richard L. Taylor (Roberta); sister-in-law, Helena Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.

I am truly sorry about your loss it's hard when we lose a loved one. However, I wanted to let you know that we can be comforted by a future hope. Soon there will be no more pain or sorrow. All the former things have passed away. (Rev 21:3,4)

Dear family, I express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear loved one and I know is so difficult to bear. But know that your Heavenly Father understands your pain and He cares. He extends a hope to each and everyone and that hope is that you will see your loved one again. John 5:28, 29; Isaiah 25:8a

To Billy, Chuck and family,
No, we didn't see it coming? I'd like to say, " Let not your heart be troubled, but there is only one who knows what the heart of all of us, might feel at this time. And that same one is here, right now and forever to get us through this disturbing heartfelt time.
Isaiah 41:10 -Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
We loved Ramona, but God loved her more.

As a former co-worker of Ramona's for many years at Wilmington Trust I know I type for more than myself that we have nothing but very fond and special memories of Ramona. What a truly positive, kind and caring person this world has lost. My condolences to the family at this time. May God grant you the peace that only He can supply at this time of loss.
