Obituary

Obituary for Tei'Quawm Rontique Williams

Phenomenal Man, Phenomenal Life

Tei’Quawm Rontique Williams, 26, born February 13, 1993 to Rochele Owens in Wilmington, Delaware. April 9, 2019 suddenly transitioned from this life as result of injuries sustained due to senseless act of gun violence.

A devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, godfather and friend. Tei’Quawm, affectionately known as “Tei”, received his education at New Moyer Academy. Tei had a passion and great delight in family gatherings that was filled with endless humor. He had special interest in interior decorating, cooking, fashion, traveling and his car. Tei also took pride in looking his best while being on the go.

Tei’Quawm is predeceased by his grandmother, Carolyn Burks-Garcia; great-grandmom, Rosella Mae Benson; and aunt, Terri Benson.

Tei’Quawm leaves a legacy of love and memories to his biggest fan, his mother, Rochele (Nathanial) Owens; 4 siblings: Da’Nahja Blair of Wilmington, Delaware, De’Niya, Dream ,and Denad Blair all of Chester, Pennsylvania; niece, Hannah Bey; godchildren: Denzel Kilson-Aiken, Anylah Merritt; grandparents: Tyrone (Dana) Johnson of Townsend, Delaware, Eduardo Garcia of Newark, Delaware, and Almetta Treadway of Atlanta, Georgia; aunts: Janice Burks of Middletown, Delaware, Jamie Burks, Oneisha Burks of Newark, Delaware, Nicole (Ronald) Waters of Middletown, Delaware, Taiya Johnson of Millington, Maryland; uncle, Travis (Melissa) Burks, of Newark, Delaware; special friends: Keondra Vaughan, Danaeszya Fields and Jazmine Merritt; and a host of great-aunts, great- uncles, cousins, and other family and friends. Tei’ was loved by many.

Tei’Quawm’s life may seem short to many, but to those who were touched by him understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. He will forever be adored.

A true hero isn’t measured by the size of
his strength, but by the strength of his heart.

Mr. Christopher Saylor

I used to teach this young man at Moyer...I thought that he was quiet then i had a rude awakening once i got to know him ...He was too funny and you couldnt tell him he wasnt nice on the court as well ...This hurts on so many levels because i had nothing but good memories with him ... He also had a serious side ...a little grown man on the low...we used to talk alot about life and moving forward... I couldnt believe the i saw on this page ...i remember i had to sub as a music teacher...he asked me what instrument i played ...i said i didnt ...he said then how are you teaching music...he said we all are about to fail...everyone laughed ..that was just him ...or take the joke back only to tell another one right behind it....i was one of the rare teachers that would walk to school...i would see them in the morning...he liked to say he wasnt coming then show up and tell me he wasnt coming tommorrow...

My deepest and utmost sympathies upon the loss of your precious son! It is especially hard for a mother (2 Kings 4:27) to lose a child. Yet the Bible promises us that our loved ones who are here with us for such a short time will live again upon a restored paradise earth. - Psalm 37:29. May we do everything that we can to live our lives in such a way so as to be there to greet them when they awaken. - John 5:28 & 29. The Holy Scriptures tell us how at John 17:3. It is my hopes that the Bible’s promises will be of encouragement to the family as you strive to cope with your temporary loss.
With deep caring love and respect,
